TO ALL PEAK ADVISORS

CORONAVIRUS NOTICE #8

MESSAGE FROM ERIKA FERNANDEZ

Dear advisors,

Over the weekend, the PEAK Emergency Response Team worked hard to continue its implementation of its emergency plan and to prepare for any new directives from our governments.

As such we are happy to announce that we are ready and fully compliant with the current directives.

All entities of the PEAK Financial Group are also considered as an essential service to society, so we will remain open for business despite the requirement by the Ontario and Quebec governments that all non-essential businesses be closed for the next three weeks.

Nonetheless, we highly recommend that you avoid sending any mail to PEAK and that you follow the recommended procedures below. Please use electronic means as much as possible for all your dealings with clients and with PEAK.

Now that we have successfully made the transition to teleworking at PEAK, we are working to help you migrate in that direction. Several initiatives are being rolled out to assist you, the advisors, in transitioning towards a 100% virtual business relationship with your clients.

You should already have a contingency plan and, if you have employees, a human resource plan. If this is not the case, PEAK can help you in implementing one.

To this purpose, a questionnaire will be sent to you in the next few days to determine more accurately your needs.

Sincerely,

Erika Fernandez
Interim Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President, Finance and Control

AVAILABLE ALTERNATIVES

AVOID MAILING DOCUMENTS AND CHEQUES

In these difficult times, we seek your cooperation in order to minimize the risks associated with mail management and cheque processing.

There are a number of secure options available to you and your clients.

CASH TRANSFERS

As we have previously communicated, transfers in kind are highly recommended at this time.

However, if you still wish to process a cash transfer, you will need to insert the attached memorandum.

It will provide the transferring institution with the necessary information to make a direct transfer or bank deposit.

CLIENT PAYMENTS

In the current context, we are proceeding by bank deposits (EFT) in order to avoid as much as possible cheques being withdrawn from client accounts. If necessary, you can contact Advisor Services.

CLIENT CHEQUES

All personal cheques received by mail will be converted to a One-time PAC (OTP). Please advise your clients accordingly.

This means that the client will not have their cheque cashed, but will rather see a PEAK bank withdrawal for the amount they have authorized.

Once again, we remind you that mailings should be exceptional and that it is preferable to use the electronic solutions offered.
